Shiva

To mourn our loss and in keeping with the Jewish tradition, the family will be sitting Shiva for the week following the funeral in our home. As Shiva is not observed on Shabbat, the Shiva will extend through the evening of Friday, June 9th.

We welcome all visitors to our home during this time of mourning and reflection. For more information about visiting during Shiva, please click here.

To get information on our home address or driving directions, please e-mail Nadav at nadavkaufman@yahoo.com

Thank You,

-The Kaufman Family

Prayers and best wishes to you all at this time. Yoram, as Nadav said, was simply a good human being, full of good humor and honest work ethics. His work with the education office at GSFC has been extraordinary. As the mentor for my work with Ilan Koren for my PhD in environmental science, he was just so sure that the work would get completed, that the people who worked with him knew what they were doing, and he was never critical or uncaring. He pushed for everyone to find the answers to the most important questions in his field, and always LISTENED...and he never listened in any way but a positive, supportive way..he will be sorely missed by all.

To the kaufman family, my sincere condolences.
Dr. Kaufman touched the lives of many as is evidenced here in this blog. I am fortunate to have been able to meet Yoram, to have him tell me to call him Yoram not Dr. Kaufman. As he was a modest man, even to me, a summer intern.
It was this personable man that i am thankfull for having the opportunitry to meet. This brilliant scientist, influential mentor, caring family man.
I pray that it is not long untill a flower smells pleasant again, that ice cream tastes satisfying, that a smile comes with a warm feeling, or a fond memory.
Thank-you for keeping us informed with this blog and thank-you for sharing Yoram with us all.
